I am dedicated to actively listening to the people of Lane Cove, advocating for their voices in local government, and ensuring transparent Council operations. Our community’s diversity is our greatest strength, and I am committed to making sure everyone’s voice is heard and valued.

I prioritise transparency in local government, ensuring council affairs, including finances, decision-making, and policy implementation, are open and accessible to all citizens. I actively participate in Lane Cove Council’s Audit, Risk, and Improvement Committee (ARIC) and will continue to support this regulated process.

As a councillor, I represent the community's views and make decisions in their best interests, demonstrating the conduct they expect and deserve.

What next if re-elected...you have told me

• Your voice at Council Meetings: In early 2024 council voted (not myself) to move the public forum to a different night than the monthly council meeting. This has not been a popular community choice and I would raise that Council reinstate the public forum on the same night as the Ordinary Council Meeting.

• Community Surveys and Consultation: I have been told that Surveys and "Have your say" communications to our community are not user friendly and appear biased to get certain results. I would propose we seek community input and gain expert review of the way we do this and launch a better approach.

• Project Reporting: Feedback from the community is that our current reporting is not consistant or easy to understand. I would intend to raise a motion for council to rework our risk and finance reporting, particulary for large sum projects, into a consistant and rigourous system which can be shared with the community each month.

My track record 2021-2024

• Sport and Recreation: Championed broader community consultation for the new building to meet the needs of all user groups, not just sporting clubs.

• Traffic Committee Meetings: Reinstated the public forum, giving the community a voice on traffic and parking matters.

• New Website: Supported creating a new website for Lane Cove Council to improve communication and response to residents' inquiries, complaints, and concerns.

• Monthly Council Meetings: Attended all but two meetings (dialling into those I missed) to seek answers for our community’s questions and make decisions on behalf of the community.

• Dogs and Sports: Worked on the Dog Advisory Committee to explore ways to gain agreement for shared use of our sports fields by dog owners and the sporting community.

• Lane Cove Festival Committee: Advocated for diverse community involvement in the 2024 lineup.

• Financial Accountability: Reviewed and analysed budget papers, asking questions about spending and forecasts.
